I've been running off and on for 10+ years now. In high school, I dealt with a very painful (and very botched up) knee surgery that I never fully recovered from. In college I was fortunate enough to have an excellent surgeon fix me for good. I'm so lucky that I've been running pain free ever since. But because of this experience, I am so thankful for every injury-free step I take. However slow my pace may be, I'm grateful for the ability to even go for a run.
I grew up watching my Dad run ultras, but didn't truly start my own running journey until last year. In December of 2010, I ran my first half marathon and was officially addicted to running. Since then, I've run dozens of races including 3 more half marathons. In November, I ran my first marathon- the Savannah Rock 'n' Roll Marathon!
Oh yeah, I'm a vegetarian so I like to experiment with weird-o recipes all the time. My ever patient husband is always willing to taste-test my creations and who knows? If I concoct a real winner, I might just share the recipe with you all!
